As the cold of winter starts to set in, a great way to spend an afternoon is at the Butterfly Conservatory. A tropical paradise under glass provides an opportunity not only to check out more than 50 varieties of beautiful butterflies from every corner of the earth, but also a chance to look at an array of exotic tropical plants in a natural rain forest-like setting.

Waterfalls, and winding paths through a tropical oasis, filled with over 2,000 butterflies... how could that not be enticing!

The Niagara Falls Butterfly Conservatory, nestled in the Botanical Gardens is at 2405 Niagara Parkway, Ontario, 10 minutes north of Niagara Falls.

Another great Butterfly Conservatory is located on the outskirts of Cambridge, Ontario.  The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is smaller than the one in Niagara Falls, but equally as charming, and home to 40 different species of butterflies.   At any one time there are over 2,000 butterflies to capture your interest.

Whether you are a plant enthusiast, a butterfly admirer or just looking for something to warm you up on a cold winter day, a butterfly conservatory is a great way to warm your heart and your soul.
